Our reporting
Editorial standards
We report tennis results and the details that help explain them. Our byline, “Owncourt Editorial Desk,” identifies the publication responsible for a story.
Facts before publication
We check names, scores and any match details included in a report. If information is missing, conflicting or uncertain, we leave it out or hold the story. We do not invent quotes, tactics, injuries or a player’s feelings.
Sources and corrections
Match data comes from API-Tennis. Rankings and tournament dates show the date of the available information. Recent results cover the matches available to Owncourt and are not a complete season record.
When a material fact changes, we show a correction on the article explaining what changed. If we cannot support a story, we withdraw it. A claim of human review requires an actual review record.
Images
Licensed player photographs are labelled as archive images and show the photographer, source and licence. When a suitable photograph is unavailable, we use a neutral tennis results graphic. It does not depict the reported match or venue.
